About the workshops

Kokedama is a Japanese technique for growing plants without a pot – a ball of soil is formed and covered with moss. It can be hung or placed on a saucer.

During the kokedama workshop, you will learn the principles of preparing this form and how to choose plants and substrate so that the arrangement will be durable and develop well.

These classes are for people who enjoy working with plants, appreciate a calm pace of work, and want to create their own plant composition.

What will you do?

You will prepare two kokedama – plants in moss balls.

First, I'll explain how to choose plants and prepare the substrate. I'll also briefly discuss the history of kokedama. Then, you'll shape the balls, plant the plants inside, and secure the whole thing with a layer of moss. I'll also show you how to water and care for your kokedama to ensure they grow beautifully.,

Each participant will receive hooks or stands to display their work.

There will also be time for coffee, something sweet, and interesting conversations about plants.
