About the workshops

Cyanotype is one of the oldest photographic techniques. Cyanotype is one of the oldest photographic techniques. A blue image is created by contact exposure of shapes arranged directly onto paper coated with a photosensitive substance.

During the cyanotype workshop, you will learn the basics of this technique and how to prepare paper for work, create interesting compositions and obtain legible prints.

These classes are for people who enjoy manual work, value concentration, and want to try a less obvious photography technique in the peaceful atmosphere of a studio.

What will you do?

You will prepare your own plant compositions and make cyanotype prints.

First, I'll show you how the entire process works—from preparing the paper, through arranging the composition, to developing the finished work. I'll also briefly discuss the history of cyanotype.

Then you will prepare the photosensitive paper, arrange the plants and do some work, testing different arrangements and exposure times.

After exposure, rinse the prints in water and you will see the characteristic blue appear.

Finally, you will select your works and frame them.

There will also be time for coffee, something sweet and work at a leisurely pace.
