Description

Kusamono with sickle asparagus (Asparagus falcatus) in a handmade concrete pot, placed on a slate base.
The asparagus has been growing in this form for a long time. I've regularly trimmed it and monitored its growth, which has allowed it to maintain a light, structured character, suitable for kusamono.

Sickle-shaped asparagus produces thin, flexible stems and narrow, arching leaves. The plant spreads naturally, but the small container and limited amount of soil slow its growth and allow it to maintain a compact form.

I made the concrete vessel myself. Its simple, austere form provides a peaceful backdrop for the plant. The entire piece sits on a natural slate base, stabilizing the work and organizing its display.

I finished the surface with moss and a small pebble—white limestone from the Soča River. This small detail completes the composition and has personal meaning for me.

This intimate plant form is designed for peaceful, homely spaces. It will evolve over time with the plant, retaining its character.

KUSAMONO CARE

It's best to place the kusamono and asparagus in a bright spot with access to indirect light. Watering should be adjusted to the room conditions and the rate at which the soil dries out – regular, moderate watering (every 5-7 days) usually works.

The plant was planted in a nutritious, proprietary soil mix, so fertilization is not necessary for the first few months. Fertilization can be gradually introduced thereafter, depending on the plant's needs.

If over time the asparagus grows significantly or the shape requires correction, you can contact me - I will be happy to advise you on how to proceed.

PACKING AND SHIPPING

Kusamono is carefully packaged for transport in an eco-friendly cardboard box, with a matching insert to stabilize the plant and the container. The packaging is simple, aesthetically pleasing, and suitable for gift-giving.

Shipping is dependent on weather conditions. In extremely cold or hot weather, shipping may be delayed or postponed. In such cases, I will contact the buyer to arrange a safe delivery date.
