Kokedama with adansoni monstera (Monstera adansonii) in a hanging version, hung on a handmade brass hook.
I made the kokedama a few weeks ago, so I'm sure the plant has taken root well and is growing steadily.
Monstera adansona is a climbing plant, prized for its distinctive perforated leaves. In its hanging form, its shoots gradually elongate, and the composition changes as the plant continues to grow. Over time, the monstera will sprout additional leaves and develop its natural habit.
The absence of a traditional pot allows the leaves, moss, and kokedama's form to be the primary focus. This allows the plant to become the focal point of the arrangement.
I handcraft the brass hook and choose proportions that match the size of the kokedama. Its simple design allows the plant to be displayed without additional elements.

CARE
It's best to hang kokedama in a bright spot with access to indirect light. Monstera thrives in bright interiors, but strong, direct sunlight should be avoided.
Watering involves soaking the ball in water for about 10–15 minutes and draining off excess moisture. For most indoor spaces, watering once a week is sufficient, although the frequency should be adjusted based on temperature and humidity.
The soil mix I used is nutritious, so fertilization isn't necessary for extended periods. Fertilization can be introduced gradually, if necessary, and the plant's response monitored.
The Monstera will continue to grow and sprout new leaves over time. If the ball begins to feel too small or the roots start to outgrow it, you can contact me—I can enlarge it or advise you on how to proceed with the plant.
Kokedama is a living plant arrangement. I only ship healthy and well-rooted plants, but their continued development depends on the indoor conditions and subsequent care.
PACKING AND SHIPPING
The kokedama is carefully protected for transport in an eco-friendly cardboard packaging, with matching filling to stabilize the plant and hook.
