Kusamono with creeping saxifrage (Saxifraga stolonifera 'Tricolor'), <\/strong>planted in a small concrete pot made by me.
\nIt is a composition in which the delicacy of the multi-colored leaves contrasts strongly with the geometric, porous vessel.<\/p>\n

I made the composition well in advance, so I am sure that the plant has adapted well to my original substrate, has taken root healthily and is growing stably.<\/p>\n

The Tricolor saxifrage stands out for its striking leaves in shades of green, cream, and magenta. Over time, the plant readily produces long, very thin runners, at the ends of which new miniature rosettes appear. This process slowly changes the form, and the center of gravity of the composition shifts naturally, adding dynamic dimension to the overall effect.<\/p>\n

I forgone the traditional, mass-produced casing. I hand-cast the concrete vessel in my own silicone mold, intentionally leaving air bubbles and the raw material's texture visible on the surface. Over time, the concrete will develop a delicate and elegant patina.<\/p>\n

This piece will look great displayed directly on a wooden countertop, dresser, or table. It's a botanical, minimalist accent that will easily fit into a bright interior.<\/p>\n

PLANT<\/p>\n

Saxifraga stolonifera 'Tricolor' (creeping saxifrage)
\nA low-growing plant with exceptionally ornamental, slightly hairy leaves and a distinctive pink-and-cream margin. Its cascading growth pattern through runners beautifully contrasts the simple form of the concrete container.<\/p>\n

    KUSAMONO CARE<\/p>\n

    Kusamono is best placed in a very bright spot. The Asian ragwort tolerates direct sunlight well, and the right amount of light helps maintain a compact habit and healthy growth.<\/p>\n

    The substrate should dry out between waterings. Watering frequency should be adjusted to the temperature and conditions in the room.<\/p>\n

    The soil mix I used is nutritious and well-drained, so fertilization isn't necessary for extended periods. Fertilization can be gradually introduced, if necessary, and the plant's response monitored.<\/p>\n

    The plant will continue to grow and gradually change shape. Regular pruning can maintain a more compact shape or direct its growth in a desired direction.<\/p>\n

      PACKING AND SHIPPING<\/p>\n

      The composition is carefully protected for transport in an ecological cardboard packaging, with a matching filling to stabilize the plant and the vessel.<\/p>\n

      Shipping is dependent on weather conditions. In very cold or hot weather, shipping may be delayed. In such cases, I will contact the buyer to arrange a safe date.<\/p>\n

      Kusamono is a living plant composition.
